Hot Hair: The Lob

With every season comes a feeling of something new; a rebirth you might say. While you can easily switch your wardrobe and even your make-up,  I would venture to guess that most women feel their “newest” and best when they step out of the hair salon with a new haircut.

 

A new haircut can change your entire style. Let’s pause for one second. While there are clothing trends which change regularly. A change in your hair “style” is something deep that changes your whole aura. Something a new trend could never do.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now the hottest hair style for the season, albeit a hairstyle that can actually transform from fall into in the summer is the Lob. The Lob, is a long bob that has been seen on celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Beyonce to Kerry Washington.

This shoulder-grazing style is perfect for the woman who does not want to come to it’s shorter, chin-grazing cousin, the bob.  A lob is perfectly coiffed for the woman who wants to be able to easily grow-out this hairstyle without that awkward in-between stage. Also this hair style looks great on every face shape, which is a super plus.

With the weather changing for the better, summer time that is, depending on your hair type you may experience more frizzy days than normal, get rained on, or even worry more about protecting your hair from the sun. Well, as we know no one likes to have a bad hair day but in some cases we just have to roll with the punches since we cannot just go back home every time our hair gets messed up. But did you know that according to an online survey at StyleSeat that 91 percent of women surveyed expressed that they feel more confident when their hair is on point.

So when you cannot help the frizz, shrinkage, or other hair disasters think about using simple hair accessories or hairstyles as an alternative.

If your hair is on the shorter side, try carrying around headbands or head wraps as these trending accessories will at least keep your hair together.

If your hair is longer, you will never go wrong with sneaking off into the bathroom and fixing a sloppy bun. If not a sloppy bun, then a sloppy ponytail works too.  If you have more products such as gel and pins then you could do a more sophisticated bun.

If you suffer from frizz during these warm months, embrace it and try doing a messy braid as braids are also trending this season.

With that, some items that will not hurt to carry around include bobby pins, wide tooth comb, scarf and even oil or moisturizer. You never know when you might need these to fix your bad hair day.

Beyoncé and her sister Solange hit the stage together during Coachella and performed a quick dance performance. While the sisters performed one thing you could notice was their natural inspired hairdos. Solange rocked a Diana Ross inspired afro while Beyoncé rocked long extensions with deep waves, which also resembled a braid out.

Both looks worked well for the two and fit right in with the season.  While hair accessories are in this season, Beyoncé took advantage of this trend by rocking a black hat on top of her deep waves.

Though I am a very big Solange fan and I always love her big afros, I would have to say that I really loved Beyoncé’s deep wave extensions. From the color to her hair accessory, everything went hand in hand. Both hairstyles are definitely a go for the season but Beyoncé’s do is definitely more versatile, as you can put it up in a ponytail if you ever get hot. Solange’s hair is bigger and therefore may be a little harder to tame for those hotter days.

As for Beyoncé and Solange, their hairstyles definitely added to their performance. If you are looking for natural inspired hairstyles or extensions, I believe both hairstyles can be rocked this season.
