Ariana Grande, currently featured on the cover of Billboard Magazine, is a girl who keeps her sisterhood circle small. Her family and close friends from Florida make up her entourage, if you can even call it that. One of those childhood friends is recent graduate Alexa Luria who’s been BFF’s with Grande since they were ten.
I was curious to know what life is like as the best friend of a pop sensation and found out that when you’re truly bosom-buddies, one’s stardom doesn’t really make that much of a difference. As Luria herself puts it in her Instagram caption of the pic below, “F is for friends who do stuff together.”
But still, there are some perks that the average friend association simply doesn’t come with. For instance, 560 thousand Instagram followers! You also get to make cameo appearances in music videos, be an extra on a Disney set, and go to the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, among other things.
So how can two girls who live on opposite ends of the country, Grande in Cali and Luria on Florida, maintain their friendship? Turns out, just like any other relationship: communication. Between Facetime, Twitter, and Instagram, they manage to stay in touch, along with the occasional trip to actually hang out with one another.
Being BFF’s doesn’t mean that you can’t have individual lives, in fact, I think it’s needed to have a healthy relationship of any kind. Grande is obviously busy promoting her new album, “Dangerous Woman”, which dropped today, and Luria is probably enjoying not having to study for finals.
