Kimora Lee Simmons is a fashion icon and mogul. She has graced the covers of the top fashion magazines in the world, from Vogue to Ebony Magazine. She has had her hands in everything fashion and beauty. She is a supermodel, fashion designer, creative director, producer, cosmetics CEO, and, well, a Barbie Doll. This Korean, Japanese, and African American beauty grow up in St. Louis, Missouri. In school she was bullied and called “chinky giraffe”, because she was over 5’10. Well, when Karl Lagerfeld scooped her up when she was only 13 years old and took her to Paris, she said “bye haters”. From that moment on she made a name for herself as one of the top super models in the world. I guess this “chinky giraffe” made a pretty good name for herself. Throughout her career some of her super model colleagues are Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell, Heidi Klum, Cindy Crawford, and Iman. Her career and love life took a turn for the better when she met and fell in love with hip-hop mogul, Russell Simmons who is 18 her senior. She began working under him and learning how to run a company and fashion designer. With the knowledge given to her by Russell, she created “Baby Phat”, the sister line to “Phat Farm”, an urban clothing line. Baby Phat grew so big that it was featured in “Fashion Week”. With Baby Phat as hers she ventured off and created fragrances, books, and cosmetics. After leaving Baby Phat and no longer being the CEO in 2010, she created “KLS” a line that is less urban and more mature than Baby Phat.

She is the mother of four children: Ming Lee and Aoki Lee with Russell Simmons (Divorced in 2009) Kenzo Lee with Djimon Hounsou (2007-2012) and Wolfe Lee with current husband, Tim Leissner.
