As a woman, the ultimate form of empowerment is being able to please yourself sexually. Of course men are great for orgasms, but whether you’re in between “bae’s,” or just plain sick of the male species all together, it’s definitely helpful to be able to connect the dots for yourself. While masturbation amongst women remains one of the largest taboos to date, it is important to understand that:

  1. Yes it is normal. You are not an immoral demonic monster from the pits of Hell simply because you enjoy touching yourself.
  2. There is a right and a wrong way to masturbate. If you are going to commit to doing something, it is only right that you see it through to completion. In this instance that would be reaching your climax. You’d be surprised about what you’ll learn about your body.

With that in mind, I’ve taken the liberty of compiling a few tips that are sure to help you get your rocks off. So make sure your door is locked, and read on.

Focus on the clitoris

With its easy accessibility, clitoral stimulation is one of the easiest and simplest ways of achieving an orgasm. The clitoris (aka that meaty piece of skin hanging from the hood of your vagina) is extremely sensitive and contains dozens of nerve endings. Use your index and middle finger to rub your clitoris in a circular or up and down motion. Increase the speed and intensity as needed.

Visual stimulation (Porn)

For those instances where you can’t seem to get in the mood, porn is sure to get the imagination working and those hormones jumping. While most women will contest to watching porn, statistics show that 85% of women reported watching porn as a “fantasy escape.”

Toys

20%-30% of people have admitted to using sex toys at some point in their lives. Despite what many are willing to admit, sex toys can be a great addition to your sex life. They are fun and convenient. Toys are also great for those hard to reach spots and come in an array of styles, shapes, and colors. Take your pick.
