Fashion Gives Back- CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards

Written By: Barrie Ladipo

Imagine sitting down in your assigned seat at the dinner table surrounded by Karlie Kloss, Amanda Seyfield, Diana von Furstenburg and the mesmerizing Anna Wintour, gearing up to congratulate and award you for your creative and authentic efforts in design. Well, that was the moment of three lucky emerging designers, in the end receiving a prize of $300,000 and mentorship.

Fashion’s “It” people gathered last night to commemorate the new, breathtaking influencers in the fashion world at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund awards. Celebrities of all talents heated up the scene, celebrating achievements of one another looking incredible. Anna Wintour shared a few lovable words to this year’s finalists, speaking how “Authentic is the word we all kept coming back to best describe all of you”, encouraging them to be influenced by this year’s designer speaker, Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy, who previously spoke with Vogue’s Hamish Bowles. She continued, “We know from your Instagram account that you are never in one place for very long. All roads in pop culture seem to lead back to you, and for good reason. You are a designer perfectly suited to the age we live in. You are as connected to the worlds of music and art as you are to fashion and how they all enrich each other.”

Of course, the evening was full of breathtaking looks. Here are a couple of my favorites.
