Christian Audigier, the fashion mastermind behind the clothing line, Ed Hardy and Von Dutch passed away. He was 53 years old.
As a way to say farewell and pay our respects, Kontrol Mag takes this time to reflect on Christian’s impact to our world.
The French designer was in the fashion industry starting at the young age of fourteen.
The way his fashion career jump started was due to a denim line created and conceptualized by him. Macken jeans noticed his talents and offered him a job. It was all uphill for Christian after that. He later began to work with companies such as Levi, Diesel, and Guess just to name a few.
However, Audigier is known for making popular the clothing lines, Ed Hardy, and Von Dutch in the early 2000s. At one point, you could not go anywhere without seeing someone in an Ed Hardy t-shirt, or Von Dutch trucker hat. Celebrities and people from all over the world were until the spell of Christian’s creativity.
He came, he saw, and he prospered. Today, we are left with memories and designs that will remind us of his creativity, drive, and passion.
In January of this year, Christian was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (a bone marrow disease). Yesterday, he passed away at Cedars- Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Christian’s legacy will live on, he will be missed.
Viva la Christian,
