Today Jill Scott debuted the cover art for her fifth studio album entitled, Woman. The album is scheduled to release in stores on July 24th.
Last month the Grammy award-winning artist released the lead single off the album, “Fool’s Gold.” Currently, Scott is no. 7 on the Billboard R&B charts, and described the album as, “classic Philly soul meets country rhythm served with captivating storytelling.”
The track list features an earlier single, “You Don’t Know” that she released earlier this year. Scott executive produced the album in collaboration with longtime creative colleague Andre Harris (behind her hits “A Long Walk” and “The Way”) and songwriter/producer Aaron Pearce.
To kick off “Woman’s” inception, the soulful queen has decided to launch a headlining tour, which begins July 9 in St. Louis. The tour marks the 15th anniversary of her debut album Who Is Jill Scott? & Sounds Vol. 1. The tour will move through more than 25 cities including Chicago’s summer block party, which caters to urban AC stations and was developed by Scott in partnership with iHeartMedia and Live Nation.
The tour ends Aug 28. During the tour, Scott will be performing songs from her new album and some of her older hits.
