“The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” movie was a big hit back in 2011 racking up 5 Oscar nominations (Winning one). With the success that the film had, its no wonder why people are scratching their head on why there hasn’t been a sequel considering the book has three novels out. We got news that we may not see a sequel, at least not anytime soon.
Rooney Mara, the star of the David Fincher directed film, basically told E! that we shouldn’t hold our breath for a new sequel. Mara says, “I don’t think it’s going to happen. I’m sad never to do it again, but it just doesn’t seem like it’s in the cards.”
Last year, Fincher said that a script for “The Girl Who Played With Fire” had “huge potential” but I guess that’s not the case right now. A fourth book in the series is due out this August so maybe this is the push it needs to get the ball officially rolling for a new film.
Let us know what you think about a sequel for the film. Should they push for it or just leave it alone?
