The queen of pop is back with a vengeance and dropping hits with some of the best in the hip-hop world to show off her versatility and connection with the hip-hop community.
Madonna is just a month away from dropping her “Rebel Heart” album and she is playing up the theme to the project by mixing and matching different genres of music and artist in true rebel form. Earlier she released her Nicki Minaj assisted “Bitch I’m Madonna” track. And now she has dropped two more tracks that will be featured on her upcoming album.
One of the tracks is called “Veni Vidi Vici” featuring Nas. The beat has more of a hip-hop infused tempo and bass-line with a teaspoon of Pop switches. Madonna kicks “singing-rap” verses while Nas kicks his classic Nas flow mentioning his nasty divorce from ex-wife and baby’s mother Kelis and Furgeson.
The other track, “Iconic,” is more of a classic Madonna song featuring Chicago’s very own, Chance The Rapper. The song starts off with an old Mike Tyson interview sound clip. Chance definitely shines on this record with his versatile sing-rap, double-stacked verse. The long-awaited track built up its anticipation when this picture of the two surfaced on social media back in 2013:
