So is it safe to say that the worlds biggest girl group is having money issues??? TLC, who is the biggest selling girl group, is looking to put out another album — with the help of their fans.
According to Love B. Scott, in order for TLC to put out their fifth and final album, they have launched a Kickstarter program for fans to contribute.
With hopes in raising $150,000, the kickstarter will fund studio time, promotion, and appropriate compensation for all parties involved in making the album.
Although I’m not entirely sure as to whether a kickstarter to fund an album to a group who is known to have financial issues is a good idea or not, the group seems to think that involving fans this way will help. Donations start at $5.
Chilli had this to say in regards to the kickstarter campaign:
“We could knock out two birds with one stone. We can have them [the fans] involved in our album. Then also, we can have control over everything. That’s a perfect combination.“

This was a very bold move for TLC. To ask fans to fund your album and [most likely] still purchase once it’s released is probably not an easy thing to do, but I’m sure meme’s will hit social media once news of their campaign goes viral.
I can honestly say this campaign can go right or horribly wrong. What do you think about the kickstarter campaign?
